What does one (1) lb of jute look like?
How much is in one pound of jute thread?
We get asked this question alot. People have a tough time determining how many pounds of jute they need. In general, 7 lbs will build you a full ghillie suit and 5 lbs will build you a 1/2 ghillie poncho.
But everyone wants pictures, so here are pictures of one pound of jute. The strands are about 24″ in length and the bundles are about 3″ in diameter. Below are 1 lb bundles of olive green jute and natural tan.

The olive green bundle looks larger because it was spread out so you can get an idea of the density within a pound of jute.

Here is a close up of the ends.
