A sniper ghillie suit (also called a sniper suit) is a ghillie suit which does not have ghillie suit thread material on the front portion of the suit.  Snipers spend alot of time prone and crawling on the ground so any material on the front portions of the ghillie suit would just hinder his movement and also get snagged on all sorts of twigs, brush and dirt.  Sniper ghillie suits are also usually padded in areas that contact the ground.  These areas are the chest, lower arms, thighs and knees.  This padding will make the sniper ghillie suit more durable and also protect the wearers arms and knees.
